New Baby Girl…

Well September’s big news is a new edition to the Muir Clan. The Doc had us truly stumped the entire pregnancy & kept referring to baby as ‘he’. So when the 23rd came round & out popped a girl i was really shocked but incredibly happy with beautiful little Bella Elizabeth Muir.

Bella Elizabeth Muir – 23/09/2011

She has been so chilled that we forget we have another child….please pray that that continues…he he. Both Lees’ & my mom have been down to make the 1st couple weeks a bit easier. They have been a real blessing by cooking, cleaning & loving us while we try continue with a relatively normal life. Thanks Moms! We have also had amazing friends spoil Bella & Seth which has made the transition, especially for Seth very smooth. Thanks guys.

Baby Shower

Friends threw a brilliant baby shower for Lees early in the month & spoilt her & baby rotten. They all went to loads of effort to make the day special with presents, paintings & good food. So a big thank you to all who came & especially the organizers, Tracels, Nix & Bernice.

Life Group

The month of September was a time of fellowship & outreach & as a Life Group. We had an amazing evening sharing food & spending time together where the following weeks we held a movie night & did a prayer walk through the community.

NewGen Church

On Friday the 30th the Church hosted a Comedy Evening with Mark Palmer & all the proceeds went to Lighthouse Mission which was awesome. Mark is a brilliant comedian with a powerful testimony & was able to keep us entertained for almost two hours with no jokes below the belt or swearing, it is a tough ask in this day & age….but he did it effortlessly. A big thank you to our Church who walk the talk.

Rugby World Cup

Ok, as I sit here, we are in mourning….the Boks going out in the quarters was a tough pill to swallow but we are proud of them. Not sure where our allegence lies now but would like to see NZ win in on home soil as they have been the best in world rugby for ages now. The boys in the community were fired up during the month pulling off ‘ Sonny Bill Williams’ moves & drawing numbers on their backs during our touch rugby sessions. Some real talent who we hope will go further. A good friend who used to play for the Bok 7’s team is planning a 3-hour club & traing session in the near future to inspire & guide the youngsters, so we really look forward to that.

Community

While Lees has been a bit ‘MIA’ the Ministry has been slowly plugging away. During the month we had three Life Groups come up on a Saturday afternoon to serve the people & bless the creche. Lead by Gerry, they painted the inside of the creche, started a veggie garden & fed most of the community. It was a huge blessing & the creche is really starting to look like a place that teaches children. Lettie, Elzane & Shiela are the amazing women who have worked hard for the last three years teaching, feeding & guiding the kids with no outside help at all.

Painters hard at work

Shortly afterwards we completed the logo which adds colour & guides people straight to it who pass by on the road.

Mentorship & Holiday Clubs have been the order of the month & we have had many special & eye raising moments. Its awesome to see the kids responding to proper parenting, and the love of Jesus everyday! Its the small things that change the tracks of these youngsters & by the grace of God we are going to see big change one day.

An important meeting held with representatives from the Municipality is the start of the residents looking into getting their electricity back & consistent running water of good quality into their homes.

Johan a new Youth pastor in Somerset West came up with a friend with donations for the Community, toys and home made biscuits. A guy who is ‘on fire’ wanting to make a difference & we are excited to see what God does through him & the kids he mentors.

Thank you so much for all your continued support & hopefully we will see some of you soon.

All our love,

Daz, Lees, Seth & Bella

& then there was 4
