The nicest time of the year

As this year starts winding down, we just wanted to thank you all for your prayers, support & friendship. It’s been a year of re-building, physically, emotionally & spiritually. It started off with confirmation of prophecy about the community we were serving in & and answer to prayer for the bigger picture.

The crèche has been re-built & is serving a larger part of the Grabouw community now. The new site is such a blessing to all who visit, work & play there. In ten short months is gone from an open field with sand heaps to a thriving crèche & base where 20 children get the attention they need. The parents are more hesitant but relationships are growing & as time goes on, we see us more involved in their families lives.

WESSA STUDENTS

We started with four, & now there are two. April couldn’t travel from down the mountain any longer & Lebona received an internship from Appletizer. We wish them both success in their futures. SG & Ndira are still working hard & we continue to mentor & speak into their lives. We are currently in talks with an organisation who might be looking for permanent staff so we have been going through CV & interview training with the guys.

Please pray for them & their futures.

GARDEN OF EDEN

CHIPS ANYONE?

CHIPS ANYONE?

The veggie tunnel continues to thrive & produce beautiful veggies for the crèche. With loving care from Lettie & the Wessa students we have already had two harvests & experimenting with new vegetables & growing techniques. Water is our biggest concern but there is a plan to change this in the near future.

ELECTRICITY

After almost 12 years without electricity, Lettie now has electricity in all buildings including her home where she can enjoy TV, a fridge & radio. The simple things we take for advantage has changed her life. Massive thanks to Tim for all his hard work & Mario from church who helped & will sign it all off.

DONATIONS

The Round Table of Grabouw very kindly donated funds to build the kids a jungle gym. It went up faster than anything we could build & the kids didn’t want to go home once it was built. Some even cried & wanted to sleep at the crèche. They have waited a long time for this & loving every moment playing on it. Thanks guys, we appreciate it.

Marona has also been visiting us from Strand & donated some awesome new books & toys for the kids. Shes a real blessing who walks the talk. Thanks M.

NEXT YEAR

As we said earlier in the blog, God is definitely answering prayers & next year has the potential of some big moves in the life of Lighthouse Mission. We will keep you posted as things develop, so keep us in your prayers as we move forward into what God has in store for us….and you of course.

MUIRS

The family is doing very well. Seth & Bella continue to excel in school & loving it….lets hope that lasts. Lisa has been working with many new children in the areas of Occupational Therapy & Play Therapy where she has the privilege of watching children excel by working through the challenges in their lives. She plans to take these skills into the more underprivileged areas of Grabouw in the new year through the Mission.

Please lets us know how/what we can pray for in your lives & we would love to see or hear from you soon.

All our love,

The Muir’s
